Head of “tunnels”: 91% of the completion rate of the electric train | Special

Dr. Essam Wali, head of the National Authority for Tunnels, revealed that the construction works of the electric train project have been completed with an implementation rate of 91%, and 45% for mechanical works that are implemented quickly because they are equipment to be installed, in addition to the finishing of stations.

Wali said in statements to “Akhbar Al-Youm Gate”, that the French company RATP, which runs the third line of the metro, will operate the electric train, and depends on Egyptian labor by 90%, and we use foreign companies to gain management expertise and performance efficiency in order to improve the service. and competition in the future.

He explained that the areas benefiting from the electric train are the cities east of Cairo, pointing out that it will operate during the month of October.

As for his trains and the ticket price, Wali said: “Twelve trains arrive from China during the month of October, and they will be entered into the workshop to undergo tests and then be tested on the tracks.”

He explained that the price of the electric train ticket has not yet been determined, and it will be “not fixed” according to the regions and stations frequented by the passenger.
