2 dead, 4 hurt after shooting in Old Sacramento, police say

Two people were killed and four others hurt following a shooting in Old Sacramento late Friday night, police said.Patrol officers reported hearing shots fired just before 11:45 p.m. around Front Street and L Street, Sacramento police said on Saturday. Two people believed to be adult men were killed in the shooting and four others were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Multiple firearms were recovered at the scene, police said. While the motive for the shooting was unknown, investigators believe there was some type of altercation before the shooting and this was not an active shooter situation.Roads surrounding the Old Sacramento area were still blocked off Saturday morning as police investigated the shooting. Evidence cones could be seen near the old train tracks in front of Joe’s Crab Shack.Sacramento police said the scene is stable and the investigation is in its early stages.Police said they did not have suspect information to provide. Information on those who were killed will be released after the victims’ next of kin have been notified.
