South Africa before the Security Council: We will not accept any unilateral move on the Renaissance Dam
The delegate of South Africa, the current president of the African Union, said that his country will not accept any harm to the three countries due to the Renaissance Dam, stressing his country’s rejection of any unilateral step on the dam.
The South African delegate added during the Security Council session on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, that Johannesburg rejects any unilateral step and welcomes what the three countries are taking to reach the agreement.
For its part, the American delegate called on all parties to cooperate to solve the Renaissance Dam crisis between Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan.
She said the AU should contribute more to the negotiations on the Renaissance Dam.
She noted that the negotiations between Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan during the past months confirm the possibility of reaching an agreement on the Renaissance Dam.
